Spring Forth!!!

Spring is the season after Winter and before Summer, this season is usually very rainy. The temperatures are not too cold, but they are not too hot either. Spring is an in between season and can be known as a transition time. Season of transitions usually consist of some times of uncertainty, but they also consist of a sense of hope. Springtime is a season of hope, a time where things that once looked dead comes back to life; the days are longer as the sun stays up longer; flowers begin to bloom; birds begin to chirp; leaves begin to grow on trees; people tend to be more active outdoors as they anticipate warmer days. Many look forward to springtime because it indicates that winter is over, and summer is coming soon.

Spring is the season in which things that appear to have been dead in the previous season begin to show signs of life. Everything begins to look better in the springtime. Spring season is a time of hope because we know that after spring comes Summer and most of us look forward to warmer weather and more sunlight. We look forward to being out and about after been inside for the winter season. As it is in the natural, so it is in the spiritual. We look forward to quickly exiting winter seasons. Even though you would think that we would all be used to the Winter Season by now, many do not welcome Winter willingly and are glad to see it go. Does anyone else agree with me?

Moods generally improve at the first sign of Spring on the horizon. However, as many look forward to the springtime for warmer weather, seeing the flowers bloom, watching the trees get back there leaves, springtime can be a time of misery for others. Who would not like and look forward to springtime you may ask? hmmmm, good question, those who suffer from seasonal allergies dread the springtime. The flowers that we look forward to seeing bloom and the trees beginning to bear leaves consists of allergens that makes many sick. So you, see? What can be a source of joy and excitement for us could bring pain and dread to others. Each season may signify something different to each of us.

As we go through seasons in our own individual lives, let us welcome and embrace each season, no matter what it brings. Let us do the work that is required in each season so we can be properly prepared to exit one season and be equipped and prepared to enter into our next season. I encourage us to dress appropriately for each season, you will not wear shorts in the wintertime, will you? So, as it is in the natural, so it is in the spiritual. As we go through the different seasons of our lives, let us enjoy every second but also be mindful of those around us who may be in misery, sadness or mourning in this spring season.

Yes, springtime is a season of hope, but many appear to be so hopeless. As we spring forth into this Spring season let us appreciate and embrace this season of new beginnings, renewal, growth, and hope.

Most who garden tend to begin to attend to their gardens, they till the ground as they get ready to plant seeds so that they will be ready for the summer months. As the spring season is quite rainy, the gardens tend to yield weeds in the midst of the good seeds planted. The gardeners will often times have to pull weeds from their gardens. As we prepare for our spiritual spring season, I encourage us to be mindful of what activities we engage in this spring season. We do not want to get so carried away that we miss the fact that each season requires a specific discipline, each season requires a different version of us, each season requires a specific work, each season may even require new people.

May we get the revelation required to be successful in this spring season. Revelation is very important in every season of our lives. May we plan and prepare well so we can enter into our summer season equipped. We must prepare ahead of each season so that we do not waste any more precious time. We know that there is a time and a season for everything under the heaven. We do not want to be spending time preparing when we should be enjoying the blessings of each season.

There is this revelation that I caught about two years ago. Summer seems so short always. We spend all winter and spring being inactive and lazy, eating and sleeping. Then when the warm weather shows up, we rush to the gym to get our summer bodies ready. By the time summer bodies are ready we are into the next season, the Fall and we did not get to enjoy the summer. Why? Because we would have been so busy planning.

This pattern has been a complete waste of great weather, we spend the time preparing rather than enjoying. Can we see from this example how important it is to be prepared to both exit and enter seasons? Can we see how important it is to do the work required in the season that it is required so that we are not doing the right thing in the wrong season? This pattern will keep us in a cycle of always playing catch up and this could be very frustrating. Why? Because we would be doing the right things at the wrong time and that can result in missed opportunities.

Now, what if we would prepare our summer bodies in the winter rather than laying around? Hmmm, then when summer comes, we would be ready to step right in and enjoy every minute of it. We should make good use of every season we find ourselves in.

If we lack clarity on what we should be doing in this particular season, study the natural seasons and remember that life is spiritual. So, as we study springtime in the natural, let us meditate on how it relates to our spiritual lives and begin to make the necessary changes.

We want to be like the sons of Issachar who in 1 Chronicles 12:32 according to The Word of God understood the times and knew what they should do. As we govern ourselves, accordingly, may our lives be like well-watered gardens. May we bloom where we are planted in Jesus’ name! Amen

Seasons!!!

Ecclesiastes 3:1 ERV says, There is a right time for everything, and everything on earth will happen at the right time.

In our everyday language it will translate to “everything happens for a reason” “nothing will happen before it’s time.”

One thing we know for certain is that no one season lasts forever, even though it may seem like some seasons do last forever. We know that there are four seasons in the natural: Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall. As it is in the natural, so it is in the spiritual, we live life and go through seasons. One thing we associate with seasons is change; change in temperature, change in how we dress, change in our moods, change in activities, change in weather conditions, change in the length of sunlight and daylight hours, change in how we eat, change in body weight, you name it if you can think of it.

In the natural we know when to expect the change in season because there is a set time and date assigned for each season to begin and end. Each season is assigned three months, equally split. However, somehow it often appears that you hear people complain that one season seem to last so long, and another seem to be so short. Depending on the individual, the vote on the longest and shortest season varies. However, what you will notice is that the season we love the most will always seem too short and the season we are the least fond of always seem to last longest.

One thing we cannot deny about seasons is that whether we like the season or not, it will come and there is nothing we can do to stop it from happening. As it is in the natura, so it is in the spiritual. Each season serves its own unique purpose. Let us look at nature, there are certain things that take place with trees in only in the winter, certain things that only take place in the spring; same is true for the summer and fall. For example, flowers bloom in the springtime and if they try to bloom in the winter, they will die. Certain seasons and the conditions that come with that season are necessary for life and survival. Not all seasons are willingly welcomed and embraced but they are necessary for our survival, growth and development.

We will begin a journey in the upcoming weeks and months to come about the four different seasons. We will explore the different seasons, the characteristic of each season, what happens in each season and how we should dress (prepare) for each season. Another thing we know about seasons is that it is very important that we dress appropriately for each season. As it is in the natural, so it is in the spiritual.

As we journey through, it is my prayer that we will be able to identify the season we are in and embrace each season equally, because we all have to go through them. When we understand more about the season we are in and we recognize and accept that it is needed and necessary, we can have a better attitude. When we have a good attitude, and we embrace each season and do the work that is needed we will realize it will impact, improve and influence how long we will stay in that season.

When we enter a season, we will ask what is the season designed to teach and prepare us for and then find out what it is that we need to do be doing while we are here, rather than why me? How long will this last?

I will leave us with this food for thought: The Lord created, (yes He designed seasons)in our lives to shape us, to mold us, and make us into who He created us to be. He uses seasons to show us that He is good and can “make everything beautiful for its own time” Ecclesiastes 3:11. So, no matter how painful or uncomfortable or pleasant a season, no matter how “good” or “bad” is, it is designed as a way and means for God to capture our hearts and attention and grow our faith.

Seasons were designed for God’s glory and for our good!

When we believe in our hearts that all things work together for our good, when we understand that nothing happens to us, but everything happens for us as stated in Romans 8:28 we will welcome and embrace every season with joy, gladness and high expectations of what God wants to do and will do in our lives if we patiently endure each season. We are expected to bear fruit in each and every season of our lives, and the fruits we bear in each season will and should differ.

Blessings Beloved of God!

Just do it!

My advice is to never do tomorrow what you can do today. Procrastination is the thief of time~ Charles Dickens

To procrastinate is the act of unnecessarily delaying or postponing decisions or actions past a deadline knowing that there will be negative consequences for doing so.

Success is not obtained overnight (this is true)It comes in installments: You get a little bit today. A little bit tomorrow until the whole package is given out. The day you procrastinate, you lose that day’s success~ Israelmore Ayivor

We all have fallen into the trap of procrastination at one point or another. It is important to note that procrastination is not the same as laziness. Procrastination can cost you and cause significant delays.

I am writing about procrastination because I have been guilty of this act for a few months now. Tomorrow kept turning into tomorrow and here we are three months later. I vowed to post a blog post once a month since my first post in May. I kept putting it off and today I decided to stop thinking about doing the post and just do it!

Is there something that you need to get done, that you keep putting off? If so;

  • Get up and get a plan in place today.

  • Give yourself a deadline to finish that task.

  • Work at it daily.

  • Tell someone about the task at hand and give them permission to check on your progress.

  • Minimize distractions, get focused and just do it!

A major key to overcome procrastination is to get started! Yes get started, today, now!

hello-My first trial blog. Things do not have to be perfect to get started. Begin where you are and grow!
